Inspire Dubai is a celebration of our Emirate’s most amazing individuals – the unsung heroes and heroines who make Dubai what it is for the 1.5 million of us who call it home.

Is there someone that you think should be recognised for what they do? We want to hear about them.

Tell us about the charity fundraisers, the young achievers, the mothers, fathers, brothers, and sisters, who don’t ask for thanks, but most certainly deserve it.

With your help, we can thank them for inspiring Dubai to be a better place and us all to be better people.

Why do we have the Awards?

Sometimes a simple thank you isn’t enough. This is the time to show the people you admire, and the rest of Dubai, how much they’re appreciated. We can show them how much they mean to all of us with an Inspire Dubai award and an evening to remember in the company of royalty and international celebrities.

Life Saver of the Year:

Has someone saved your life, or that of a friend or loved one? Are they a doctor or nurse, or just a member of the public who went out of their way to help? Tell us about them and nominate them for an Inspire Dubai award.

Guardian of the Year:

Do you think you know the parents or guardian of the year? Do they have to go the extra mile to look after children with special needs? Do they provide for a large family on a low income? Or are they just amazing individuals?

Fundraiser of the Year:

Is there someone who works behind the scenes for a charity that you know about? Do their tireless efforts to help other people sometimes go unnoticed? It’s time to nominate them for an Inspire Dubai award. Most of us will donate money to charity, from time to time, but there are some people who have dedicated their lives to raising funds for those in need. It’s time for Dubai’s fundraisers to be appreciated.

Educator of the Year:

Do you know someone who seems like they were born to teach? Their pupils thrive under their guidance and they genuinely love what they do. We want to know about them. But we don’t just want to hear about teachers in the most traditional sense. Tell us about anyone who educates others, they might lecture on subjects of local or international interest or teach another language. They could be our Educator of the Year.

Inspiring Personality of the Year:

Do you know someone who stands out from the crowd, who has a personality that lights up a room? We want to hear about them, they could be our Personality of the Year.

Child of Bravery:

Do you have a child, or know of a child, who has been through more in their short life than most of us go through in a lifetime. Could they be our Child of Bravery?

Young Achiever of the Year:

We all work hard to achieve our goals but there will always be the odd special person who sets the world alight from an early age. Could they be Inspire Dubai’s Young Achiever of the Year?

Environmental Achiever of the Year:

We are all becoming more aware of protecting the environment we live in, but some of us are putting our concerns into action. Tell us who should be the Inspire Dubai Environmental Achiever of the Year.

Special Recognition Award:

This award is designed to recognise an individual who has changed Dubai and the lives of the people who live here. Is there someone that has come to your attention in 2008 for the work they do or what they stand for? We need to know about them.

Lifetime Achievement Award:

Who are Dubai’s most amazing people? How much have they achieved in their lives and how many people have they helped? Tell us about them and nominate them here for Inspire Dubai’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Who decides the winners?

The winners will be decided by a specially selected panel of VIPs. The chosen ten will represent industry and community in Dubai. They will consider the nominations and decide upon the final winners.

When will the winners be announced?

The winners will be announced on the 30th November 2008 at the The Westin Mina Seyahi Resort& Marina and on the website from the 1st December.
